The Fisherman and the Ballerina

Synopsis:

The year is 1999. while the bombing shakes Serbia, a romance is unexpectedly born on a sandbar along the Danube between Mileta, a sixty-year-old fisherman, and Lyudmila, a retired Russian ballerina. Their love lasted four nights, while air raids continued over Belgrade. A small, absurd microcosm of soldiers, smugglers and retired ballet dancers forms around them, while the war becomes an inexorable background of intimacy and passion. When love collides with violence and jealousy, the line between romance and tragedy disappears in the waves of the Danube.
