“A Blue Flower” Wins at the 68th Pula Film Festival

The film A Blue Flower by Zrinko Ogresta won several major awards at the 68th Pula Film Festival:

  • Best Film in the Croatian Program, awarded by the Critics’ Jury
  • Grand Golden Arena for Best Film
  • Golden Arena for Best Director – Zrinko Ogresta
  • Golden Arena for Best Leading Actress – Vanja Ćirić (for her role as Mirjana)

Additionally, the film received an audience rating of 4.42, securing second place in the competition for the Golden Gate of Pula Audience Award.

A Blue Flower follows Mirjana, a middle-aged woman, mother, and daughter, who works at a Zagreb thread factory. On the day of her 20th work anniversary celebration, her interactions with loved ones reveal different aspects of her life—past, present, and future.

The screenplay was written by Ivor Martinić in collaboration with Zrinko Ogresta. The cast includes Vanja Ćirić, Anja Šovagović Despot, Tea Harčević, Nikša Butijer, Doris Šarić-Kukuljica, Alen Liverić, and others. The film was produced by Ivan Maloča, with cinematography by Branko Linta, editing by Tomislav Pavlić, and music composed by Dino Osmanagić and Kristijan Koščica.
