Synopsis:

How many accomplices does it take to cover up the truth? This is the story of Sofia and Branko, a harmonious and deeply in-love couple from Užice. She is a beautiful and charming architecture student, while he is a successful construction investor who provides her with security and attention. But one night, after a dinner with prominent citizens of Užice, their world changes forever. On the way home, Branko hits an elderly man with his car and flees the scene. Sofia wants them to go back, but Branko wants the whole thing forgotten. The city remains silent. The police close the case. Witnesses are bought off. The truth becomes a burden carried only by her. As the wedding approaches and her growing belly hints at a new life, Sofia realizes that the people around her are not just wedding guests, but silent accomplices to a crime that the entire city has decided to conceal. Marko Novaković was born in Belgrade in 1971. He graduated in MultimediaDirecting from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in 1994. His first feature film,“Neko me ipak čeka”, was made in 2009 and won numerous awards. His secondfilm “Zverinjak” (2012), and third, “Bez stepenika” (2015), was also successful at domestic and international festivals. He also directed the TV drama “Maska“(2007), documentaryf iction films, and many other projects. He is a member of theSerbian Film Artists Association.
